Chocolate Yoga Launches On The Lower North Shore

Announcement posted by mellennium PR 14 Apr 2011

Just in time for Easter, ‘Chocolate Yoga’ will launch at the Lower North Shore’s newest yoga studio, Yoga Sivana, as it opens the doors of its new eco-studio and wellbeing oasis in Mosman. Chocolate Yoga is a new workshop of indulgent yoga, exploring the practice as a rich and soulful sensory experience - like eating chocolate.

The two hour gentle and nurturing class will treat participants to a blissfully restorative, yin-yoga infusion class, accompanied by the harmonious vocal and instrumental sounds of Lulu and Mischka, who will be performing live. Throughout the workshop, be guided to move and flow with breathing, maintain inner awareness, feel into the body and realign with a sense of calm and wellbeing. The session ends with guided meditation and relaxation, and the pice de rsistance... delicious Loving Earth raw chocolate.

“It is Easter after all!” said Kelly Sunartha, founder of Yoga Sivana. “The Chocolate Yoga workshop is designed to indulge all the senses, leaving you with that delicious, yummy feeling you get when you eat chocolate.”

One of Sydney’s first yoga eco-studios, Yoga Sivana uses and promotes sustainable and organic yoga props and products. “By taking part in the movement towards sustainable living, we are reconnecting with a deeper awareness of ourselves as part of the larger whole,” said Kelly. “Our motto is Love Yoga, Love Life and it is our belief that we are all intrinsically connected to our planet and to one another; that what we do to our planet, we do to ourselves.”

The word ‘Sivana’ means ‘oasis of enlightenment’ and the studio will also offer services such as massage therapists, art therapists, private one-on-one yoga coaching, and other natural therapies. “I really want people to see the studio as an oasis,” said Kelly, “It is a place to come, connect and feel nurtured and inspired.”

From May onwards, the studio is introducing a “by donation” community class every Friday evening at 6:30pm, led by various teachers who will be focusing on a different theme or topic each week.“In addition to yoga, we’ll be hosting movie nights, kirtan evenings, and a dreaming circle where you can talk about your dreams and the symbology behind them, teaching us to be more conscious of the unconscious mind within our waking life.”Community classes are open to all (bookings recommended) and are a great, fun option for a Friday night.

The first Chocolate Yoga workshop is being held on Tuesday, 26 April from 10am to 12pm and costs $65. Yoga Sivana is hosting a grand opening night on Friday, 29 April from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and all are welcome to attend to see the new studio for themselves, meet Kelly and the studio’s teachers.

Yoga Sivana is located at Suite 2/52 Ourimbah Rd, Mosman. For more information or to book, call 0299682224 or visit
