Aurecon's new Ports and Marine Leader for WA – Chris Cowland

Chris Cowland has been appointed as Aurecon’s new Ports and Marine Leader for Western Australia.

Don Phillips, Region Leader for WA said: “Chris is a lead maritime and chartered engineer with over fourteen years professional experience in port development and marine civil infrastructure. His expertise includes design work, project management, procurement, site supervision and port planning for projects across the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.”

Chris has a strong background in port operations and business development and will be strengthening Aurecon’s Western Australia offering by focusing on project procurement, execution and delivery for key clients in the company’s ports and marine business.

Previously Chris worked for Kellogg Brown & Root both in the UK and Australia and was responsible for execution, coordination and delivery of marine civil infrastructure packages relating to the oil and gas industry. He has lead a number of international port and harbour projects including container, Roll-on Roll-off, cruise and bulk handling expansions of iron ore, nickel and sulphur. Chris has an excellent knowledge of port operations having worked directly for port authorities for 8 years during his career.
