Aurecon appoints new Development Leader for Minerals and Metals Processing - Dan Curry

Dan Curry has been appointed as Aurecon’s new Development Leader for Metals and Minerals Processing.


A technical project leader and business manager in the field of mineral processing and metallurgy, Dan has experience in roles such as Director, General Manager and Principal Metallurgist in various commodities markets and geographies.

Dan said: “This new role will draw from my previous experience as a client, working for mining companies such as Xstrata, MIM, Anglo American and PlacerDome, allowing me to focus on developing and strengthening Aurecon’s key client offering.”

Dan’s most recent role was General Manager – Processing and Technology for Xstrata Nickel Australasia and, prior to this, he was involved in South Africa driving new technology business development and providing metallurgical evaluation of existing assets and future ore bodies.

Dan continued, and said: “Ensuring that we continue to provide innovative, valuable solutions and further develop close customer relationships are areas that I am passionate about and they are characteristic of how Aurecon operates. Our ability to add value will be essential in consolidating and driving forward our growth plans for the WA region.”

Don Philips, Region Leader for Aurecon, agreed and said that Dan will be spearheading the strategic growth of Aurecon’s metals and mineral processing capabilities to the resources sector.
