Oricom brings further peace of mind to new mums

Announcement posted by LOCKE pty ltd 10 May 2011

Oricom will release its Babysense2™ - the first infant respiratory monitor for domestic use, registered as a medical device
Later this month Oricom, Australia’s trusted name in baby monitors, will release its Babysense2™, the first infant respiratory monitor that has been registered as a medical device, available for domestic use.

“Because we can’t watch over our children around the clock, the assistance of Babysense2 is a great addition to the home”, explains Kevin McDonnell, Oricom Managing Director.

Babysense2™ constantly monitors the breathing movements of your baby, activating an alarm if your baby’s breathing movement slows to a rate of less than 10 breaths per minute or cannot be detected for more than 20 seconds.

Sensitive, safe, unobtrusive and comfortable, Babysense’s control unit connects to sensor pads placed under your baby’s mattress. These pads cannot be seen or felt by your baby, yet they sense every breath and movement.

Babysense2™ is a multi-award winning infant respiratory monitor designed for the home, though it has been used in hospitals around the world for close to a decade.

Already the largest locally owned designers, manufacturers and distributors of baby monitors in Australia and New Zealand the addition of Babysense2™ to the range further grows Oricom’s offerings to new mothers.

“Babysense2 complements our desire to provide the highest quality products and expertise in advanced baby monitoring technology for Australia and New Zealand families,” Kevin explained.

“It brings greater peace of mind to new mothers concerned about their sleeping baby.”

Babysense2 will be available through all baby stores stocking Oricom products and will retail for around $279 (inc. GST).
