International College of Management, Sydney Selects Tripoint for Fast Deployment of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solution

Announcement posted by Tripoint 26 May 2011

Sydney, 26 May 2011 – The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) has engaged Tripoint Corporation, a privately owned business and systems integration consulting company, to provide rapid deployment of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solution. The software will provide a platform to manage the College's growing annual enrolments, to automate student administration and course scheduling, and to provide local and international students with online self-service functionality.

Implementation is now under way and the solution is expected to be ready for a limited pilot in October 2011 prior to being formally launched in time for next year's student intake in January 2012.

ICMS is a business college that specialises in degrees for professional services industries.  Located in Manly, New South Wales, it attracts more than one thousand students annually from over 50 countries around the world.

The College selected the combined Tripoint/Oracle PeopleSoft solution based on the need for fast deployment with minimal risk. Among the key considerations were Tripoint's experience in the education sector, its rapid deployment methodology and pre-configured education templates that cut down implementation time from 18 months to under eight months, thus saving costs and resources.

In addition, ICMS stipulated that it required a demonstrable tight working relationship between its software vendor and service organisation.

ICMS General Manager, Frank Prestipino, said, “We wanted a supplier who was prepared to partner with us to develop a solution and who could understand the way we operate. Tripoint demonstrated professionalism in the way they went about solving problems for us even in the early stages and they are clearly a service-oriented organisation.  When we met with them we felt we could trust them.”

Tripoint will be able to deliver a fast and economical implementation because it has configured the Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solution in a template offering specifically configured for the Australian market, complete with an implementation methodology, managed application services, and customised training materials.

Tripoint will follow a four-stage project management strategy to plan, design, build/integrate and manage implementation.  It will also supply customised training materials to support ICMS as it makes the switch to the new system.

Vaughan Stibbard, CEO, Tripoint Corporation, said, ”We are delighted to have been awarded this engagement and look forward to deploying our proven and extensive skills and services and experience in the higher education sector to achieve maximum success for ICMS as it sets out on a path for robust growth in the years ahead.  At the same time, we look forward to enhancing an already great relationship with Oracle as this project gains momentum.”

The first big test for the implementation will occur in October when ICMS and Tripoint conduct a pilot program for admissions which will run in parallel to the College's existing legacy admissions system. Results will be used to further refine development in the lead-up to going live in January 2012.
