Sheridan Rogers brings her latest cookbook ‘Mini Chef’ to life at St Ives Shopping Village, Sydney this July

Announcement posted by Underground Communications 29 Jun 2011

Sheridan Rogers will be making an appearance at St Ives shopping Village on Monday the 4th of July to kick off their four day series of cooking workshops for kids, ‘Edible Art’.

Conducting two cooking shows on the day at both 11.00am and 1.00pm, Rogers will be demonstrating recipes from her latest cookbook for kids, ‘Mini Chef’.

“Mini Chef aims to both introduce children to the basics and take their curiosity to a whole new level through easy-to-prepare recipes that are both fun to make and eat!” says Rogers.

“I am looking forward to sharing some of the recipes from my book and getting the local children excited about learning and cultivating their creative cooking skills,” she adds.

St Ives shopping Village has been running the Edible Art cooking workshops in the school holidays for the past year. Designed for children ages 5 to 12, they have recently increased the class number to 30 due to the popularity of the program.

“It is so lovely to see children exploring their creativity whilst having fun with cooking and for them to have the opportunity to meet and learn from people like Sheridan Rogers is a huge blessing,” says Sue McKindlay, marketing manager of St Ives shopping Village.

On the day, Sheridan will be available for a meet and greet and will also be signing copies of ‘Mini Chef’ following each demonstration show.

About Mini Chef

Sheridan Rogers’ Mini Chef book was released by New Holland publishers in October 2010. With recipes ranging from baked eggs to tacos to the full roast dinner, full colour photographs and easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions, children can learn to cook for the whole family.
It starts by introducing children to the basics, from peeling freshly picked garden vegies and roasting capsicum to separating eggs. From here the cooking world for children is their oyster as they can flip through the chapters from breakfast, snacks, salads and sides, main courses, desserts and edible gifts.
With recipes such as Golden Roast Chicken with a side of Cauliflower Cheese and Triple Chocolate Brownies for dessert, it’s a boon for parents looking to be excited with their children’s creative cooking skills.
