Constraint Technologies Acquires Rail System From Jeppesen

Constraint Technologies (CTI), a leader in the transport optimization and situational awareness environment, has acquired the rail system RMS-R fromJeppesen, Australia. This acquisition builds upon CTI’s current offerings to the Rail industry.

RMS-R (Resource Management System - Rail) is a crew management, scheduling and optimization software solution designed specifically for the rail industry. It comprises shift generation, rostering, and day-of-operation management of shift-based crew. It improves efficiency through effective management of all aspects of crew planning and operations, and allows for quick responses to train and crew changes. RMS-R promotes a fair and equitable work environment through compliance with labour rules and safety standards.

With the acquisition of RMS-R, CTI now offers customers a complete rail solution; from infrastructure planning, timetable generation, timetable management and now the full scheduling and rostering of train crew. RMS-R will become part of theTPAC Rail suite of productsand will henceforth be known asTPAC Rail Crew.

CTI’s expertise in optimization is well known by its Tier 1 clients in the Aviation industry. This expertise will be utilized in the further enhancement of the rail product line. CTI’s knowledge in software optimization is further strengthened by theCTI Monash Centre for OptimizationatMonash University, which works in collaboration withMelbourneandNewcastle Universities.
