The NBN Project – Industry Insights to be Revealed

The National Broadband Network (NBN) is one of Australia’s biggest infrastructure challenges. Questions stillsurround the details of the NBN rollout, how industry can learn to work with the NBN and the opportunitiesthe NBN presents for design and construction stakeholders.

The inaugural NBN Realised Forum 2011 will look beyond the media hype to investigate the industry’sexperiences to date, through expert analysis from service providers and NBN Co itself.

Taking place in Melbourne on Wednesday 23rd November 2011, the NBN Realised Forum is a uniquechance to get an inside look at what the NBN has done, and importantly, what the future marketplacemay look like. The Forum will give existing and potential stakeholders in the NBN an insight into the project’schallenges and successes to date and the industry’s vision for the future. The event will focus on the buildingand design of the NBN, and will elaborate on lessons already learnt, early NBN experiences, opportunities forindustry collaboration and how products and players will fit into the new NBN landscape.

An exciting range of expert speakers from across the industry will present at the Forum, from NBN executives– such as Chief Technology Officer of NBN Co., Gary McLaren – to representatives from stakeholders such asEngin, Service Stream Communications, NextGen, OptiComm and Communications Alliance.

The Forum has been developed with the support offoundation sponsors and Melbourne-based, Australianowned companies DGiT, SPATIALinfo and Yarris. Speaking onbehalf of the foundation sponsors, Greg Tilton, CTO, DGiTsaid of the Forum: “This is a unique and well-timed event forNBN design, construction and operation stakeholders. Weare perfectly placed to reflect on what we have learnt sofar, and how we can use this to optimise our opportunities.”
