Wine distributor Vintners under new ownership

Wine distribution company Vintners and its sister company Yarra Valley Wine Consultants were acquired by the newly established Trentham Merchants during August.

Vintners and Yarra Valley Wine Consultants were formerly owned by Andrew Watts and his family, who established the businesses in 1984.

Trentham Merchants, under the direction of Trentham Estate Winery owner Anthony Murphy and an independent board, has consolidated the businesses under the single trading name of Vintners. The new Vintners will operate in Victoria and New South Wales, and will continue to provide sales distribution for a portfolio of over twenty wineries from Australia and overseas.

Trentham Merchants plans to build on the solids foundations established by the Watts family to create a dynamic distribution business that will position its brands to meet the ever-changing demands of the market.

It is confident the new single and revised Vintners portfolio - which includes renowned wine brands such as Trentham, Stella Bella, Paulett and Allandale to name a few* - offers a diverse range of premium wines for distribution in both retail and on-premise settings. Together with its team of highly experienced sales representatives, led by Anne Pettigrove, Vintners plans to provide an outstanding service to existing and new clients.
