Announcement posted by BlueArc 09 Nov 2011
Challenged by the aging and unsupported technologies of its existing intranet, Canon sought a replacement for this key infrastructure which is used as a major communication tool and to manage a number of critical business activities.
David Klineberg, General Manager Corporate Strategy & Communications, Canon Australia, said: “Replacing our existing out-dated intranet is core to strengthening our employee communications and engagement throughout Australia and New Zealand. Being a leading imaging company, we will use this expanded capability in many creative ways. We chose BlueArc, following a competitive pitch process, because it is renowned for its technical strength and proven record delivering sophisticated solutions.”
BlueArc’s commission includes the new design; redevelopment of content and applications for migration to Sitecore; the information architecture and search functionality; a new governance model; and end user training. It will also incorporate analytics to enable Canon to monitor what employees are accessing to further improve navigation and future content changes.
The new intranet will launch in December this year with more features added progressively in Q1 2012.
Following lengthy, competitive tenders, BlueArc has also recently won projects with Australian Unity and Mirvac Hotels & Resorts.
Australian Unity, the national healthcare, financial services and retirement living organisation, has appointed BlueArc to design, build and implement an entirely new look and feel for the company’s web presence. BlueArc is in the design phase and the agency will be working to deliver increased functionality and efficiency while ensuring a richer, more engaging online experience.
Using Sitecore CMS, BlueArc will be undertaking a complete re-design of the Mirvac Hotels & Resorts website with the overall aim of optimising online transactions.
Scott Porter, BlueArc CEO, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Canon, Australian Unity and Mirvac, and to have won these significant pieces of new business is a real credit to our team. BlueArc’s passion for digital innovation, our extensive technical expertise and our focus on client service seems to be resonating well with our clients.”
