Pacific Hydro Powers Up IT Service Management With Numara Footprints

Melbourne, 14 November 2011– Leading Australian renewable energy company, Pacific Hydro, has selected the Numara Footprints Service Management and FootPrints Lifecycle Management solutions for roll out across its global workforce.
The solution will help Pacific Hydro’s IT team manage service requests, create and track process workflows and implement change management processes, all from a single secure environment.
Designed to meet the needs of mid- to large-sized enterprises seeking a cost-effective approach to improve service levels and gain greater visibility and control over assets, the Numara FootPrints family of products transforms IT operations management by seamlessly integrating and automating business processes delivering true end- to-end support capability for change, configuration and desktop management processes.

In rolling out FootPrints Lifecycle Management software, Pacific Hydro’s IT team will be able to automate the complexities of asset tracking and manage a single, unified console to centralise the lifecycle management of its operating systems, audit hardware and software inventory as well as patch management.
“We’ll be able to analyse trends in service desk calls and be better equipped to monitor service level agreements on everything from user desktop assessment to system failure and incident response,” said Hayward. “As a result, we’ll be able to place the IT group on a proactive platform to remediate any potential issues. At the same time, the software’s inherent analytics features will provide us with the ability to consolidate our software base and gain user insight for the first time. It will help us with recovery restrictions and centralising our asset and change management,” added Hayward.
Pacific Hydro has 12 IT staff based in Australia, Brazil and Chile servicing the needs of over 300 employees around the world. Footprints has been deployed in the company’s SAP, Office Management and IT groups in Australia; and in the IT group in Chile.
“The new system will also result in better use of IT resources. By analysing the calls and seeing what jobs we have at hand, we can drill down into where potential issues may lie,” said Hayward.
