High flyers get sore bums for a cause

Announcement posted by Employment Office 29 Nov 2011

MEDIA RELEASE - 29th November 2011
The heat will be on tomorrow at the office of Milton-based recruitment marketing specialists Employment Office. A battle of Brisbane’s top executives will be taking place as part of the inaugural SoreBums Cycling Challenge.

A line-up including former Virgin Blue CEO Brett Godfrey, Flight Centre CEO Graham Turner, Macarthur Coal CFO Graham Yerbury and Employment Office Managing Director Tudor Marsden-Huggins will each be riding a 30 minute leg on a stationary bike as part of a 2000km continuous cycle to raise $20,000 for Diabetes.

The business powerhouses and cycling enthusiasts will be fighting it out to see who can ride the greatest distance in the time allocation. With pride and bragging rights on the line, who will come out on top?

All of the action will be streamed live via the web at www.sorebums.com.au from 9am tomorrow morning.
The ride began last Monday 21st of November and will finish this Friday 2nd of December, after the distance from Brisbane to Cooktown has been covered.

Employment Office Managing Director Tudor Marsden-Huggins says the office has been buzzing ever since the SoreBums event kicked off, but our team is particularly excited about the battle of wills set for tomorrow.

“Naturally we are all competitive guys and we’ll be giving it a good go to finish as the fastest rider. But of course the most important aspect of the ride is that we are raising money for an extremely worthy cause.

“In terms of accumulated air miles I think there’s plenty of competition between Brett Godfrey and Graham Turner. We may not be able to settle the score on who’s clocked more travel miles, but we can settle the score on who’s the faster rider.

“Hopefully the guys enjoy the experience as much as our other riders have, and will be happy to return as we host this event in the future,” he said.
