Veneziano SA Barista Champion results

Veneziano congratulates Mike Wells of Blefari Caffe & Cucina in Adelaide on his second place win in both the SA Barista Champion and the SA Latte Art Champion titles.
Competing only for the third time in what was an extremely close competition, Mike narrowly missed out on a win. He placed third in last year's competition and you can expect to see him compete in the open heats in the nationals next year in the lead up to the world barista competition.
Veneziano's Craig Simon, 2012 Victorian Barista and Cup Tasting Champion, flew across to Adelaide to assist Mike in his competition preparations. Craig had roasted Mike's competition coffee and also helped with some fine tuning of his signature drink and minor technical aspects of his performance.
Mike really has a passion for competing and plans to do more of it in the future. In fact, Veneziano we were so impressed with him that they offered him a role as head barista at the soon to opened First Pour cafe in Adelaide.
This will mean that Adelaide customers can expect even more local support with staff training, coffee knowledge and experience.
