Sex twice a month for Poms

Announcement posted by It's My Health 12 Dec 2011

As reported on www.itsmyhealth.com.au British health authorities are threatening to dash many a Christmas romance this year, with plans to ration prescriptions of Viagra.

New National Health Service guidelines have proposed that GPs limit prescriptions of erectile dysfunction drugs to two per patient per month, down from the normal limit of four, according to British media reports.

Newspapers accused the NHS of “penny-pinching”, with the Telegraph saying the guidelines could “limit thousands of couples to having sex once a fortnight”.

Even the NHS’s own guidance stated: "There appears to be no clinical reason to restrict the number of tablets", the newspaper said.

Australians’ sex lives are meanwhile tipped to take a turn in the opposite direction this Christmas, with a new survey finding many people expect to turn to sex in a bid to manage holiday-season stress.
