Reckon continues to soar into the cloud

Announcement posted by Reckon Limited 13 Dec 2011

A leading Australian software provider, Reckon Limited, has announced a raft of improvements to their CashBook Online software today, keeping with their promise to provide a compelling online environment for a comprehensive range of cloud based business solutions.

Reckon’s Business Division has released several new online tools this year and has plans to launch more in the year ahead. Improvements to the CashBook Online program announced today are evidence of the company’s commitment to providing advanced cloud-based tools that meet business needs.

"By tapping into Reckon’s online environment, businesses with anywhere between 1 and 200 employees can access business management tools that work seamlessly together from anywhere, anytime,” says Gavin Dixon, Reckon’s Business Division CEO.

“Users of our program for micro-businesses, CashBook Online, will notice that improvements announced today are available now. What is already a very simple accounting program for recording payments and receipts, now offers greater flexibility, with reporting, searching and saving made easier.”

Enhancements to CashBook Online include:

o 8 new reports - two tax reports and six list reports

o Export to excel functionality - each report now includes an export button

o Improved search - search whole cashbook file using exhaustive search criteria options

Unique to CashBook Online is the ability to create an unlimited number of cashbooks and transactions, as well as online and offline access. Users can also choose to automatically download bank transactions using Reckon BankData with ANZ, St George and NAB automatic bank feeds currently available; manual banking downloads are available with most banks in Australia.

“The ease of sharing data online is one of the key reasons business owners and accounting professionals tell us they’re moving toward cloud-based programs. Having instant, simultaneous access to data, without concerns about duplication of data, is helping them become more efficient,” says Dixon.

As well as CashBook Online, this year Reckon has launched a version of QuickBooks Hosted for Mac, iPad and Android users; a new application for capturing bank transactions, Reckon BankData; and an SBR*-enabled application for submitting activity statements to the Australian Tax Office, Reckon GovConnect.

In 2012 Reckon plans to unveil a cloud-based solution for accounting firms and a new online solution for retail operators that will provide a mobile point of sale. The software specialist is also working on more SBR-enabled applications that will help business reduce time spent meeting compliance obligations.

CashBook Online costs $198 per year. Reckon BankData is currently being offered at no additional cost. Find out more at www.reckononline.com.au and see the promotional video clip here http://youtu.be/_XLnHeKJn7c
