Optimizer International Group, Inc.'s Ip2Location API Service for Developers serves 44 new calls every second.

Announcement posted by Optimizer HQ 14 Dec 2011

In the last 30 days Optimizer International Group, Inc. (3OP.F) has had an incredible rush on their Ip2Location API with over 1.9 million API calls made by over 116 developers around the world. That’s nearly 44 API calls every second.

“It’s funny really. We built it for us, but now anyone in the world can use it for free. Jaron Turnbull, CTO, explains further. “Our company’s rate of growth and demand for our online software products has been such that our need for accurate data and fast response times was outgrowing anything we could find in the market. It was difficult to find a service that would give us what we needed, at a reasonable price, and could keep up with our pace... so, we did what we do best, and we’ve done from the beginning, we built it ourselves.”

Manas Kumar, CEO says “This is a very unique Ip2Location API. For starters, it’s 100% free. We don’t charge a thing for it. Secondly the API is dead simple and comes in different formats. The API runs on blazing fast hardware and database systems across our vast network and we offer data that’s not just the usual ‘geo location’. With additional information such as browser type, operating system type, device type, lattitude/longitude and country flags, our IP2Location API service is a world first. It’s no wonder that over 116 developers around the world have made over 1.9 million API calls in the last 30 days.”

Optimizer HQ is a fast paced ‘innovation factory’ with a vision of simplifying technology for small businesses around the world using the internet as a delivery vehicle. On November 30th, 2011 the company began trading on the Deutsche Boerse (Frankfurt Stock Exchange) as a publicly listed company and is one of only 8 New Zealand based companies trading on this exchange along with some other recognizable brands such as Fletcher Building, Telecom Corporation, Auckland International Airport and New Zealand Oil and Gas.

“The Ip2Location API is an example of the way we do business.” Kumar says, “We see something we need and realize that thousands of other developers, just like us, would need it as well. So, we built it hoping to help the developer community out there.”
