Announcement posted by HarvestRoad 28 May 2003
HarvestRoad is delighted to announced the first sale of its flagship product, HarvestRoad LCMS, into the United States higher education market sector.
HarvestRoad LCMS is a highly scalable, browser-based content repository that enables the efficient collection, management, discovery, sharing and reuse of any type of content material used in the delivery of online courses within higher education, K-12 and corporate organisations. The LCMS provides tailored functionality that is based on education industry specifications (including IMS and SCORM), which can be integrated within a Course Management System or implemented in a stand-alone mode.
The University of South Florida (USF) has selected HarvestRoad to manage its copyright requirements, meta-tagging, workflow, version control and access rights fro materials delivered through Blackboard Learning System Release 6. Currently, USF offers in excess of 7,000 courses per semester across a number of campuses. HarvestRoad will manage the substantial investment and intellectual property associated with these courses whilst also providing USF teaching personnel with a valuable tool for extending existing collaborative learning strategies. USF is one of Blackboards prime reference sites and one of the early users of the Blackboard solution.
HarvestRoad is very excited that such an important learning institution as the University of South Florida should become our first major LCMS client and Product Advisory Board member in the United States. As a reference account we couldnt be more pleased and we are looking forward to providing an outstanding outcome in content management for the campus and as a result creating more opportunities in the United States, said Mr Grame Barty, Executive Chairman of HarvestRoad.
Mr Barty also confirmed that the sale to USF is consistent with the sales forecasts mentioned in the Report on Activities for the Third Quarter lodged with the ASX on 30 April 2003.
