Leading Australian Credit Union United Community has appointed Michelle Coelho to the position of WA State Manager

Leading Australian Credit Union, United Community has appointed Michelle Coelho to the position of WA State Manager.

Mrs Coelho has worked for United Community for more than 13 years, starting her career as a Member Service Officer. Throughout this time she has worked in a range of key roles across the organisation and demonstrated a high level of commitment to the business as well as strong leadership capabilities. This was evidenced most recently in the role of Acting State Manager earlier this year.

Mrs Coelho was awarded one of five highly sought after World Young Credit Union People Program (WYCUP) scholarships at the World Credit Union Conference in Glasgow, Scotland earlier this year in addition to receiving the 2010 Bridges Emerging Leader Award.

The $10,000 International WYCUP Scholarship is awarded to individuals under the age of 35 who have made a significant contribution to the development of the credit union for which they work. The scholarship will see Mrs Coelho attend the World Credit Union Conference in Gdansk, Poland in July 2012 to represent United Community Credit Union.
