To assist brands in navigating the internet TV space

Sydney, 23 January 2012 – Leading media and technology company, The Video Network (TVN) has today released a free internet TV guide to assist brands in navigating the rapidly evolving internet TV industry. The guide is designed to offer insights into key trends driving the internet TV ad market and to provide tips and traps for brands new to the internet TV space.

The release of the guide follows the explosion of online video streaming in Australia with Frost & Sullivan estimating growth of 467% in online video by the end of 2016. This shift in Australian viewing habits will require brands to adopt online video advertising and content as part of their overall media buying strategy.

“Despite the massive growth in the internet TV ad market, many marketers are still coming to terms with the opportunities this new medium presents and how best to integrate them into existing media strategies,” said TVN managing director Peter Ostick.

“We believe it’s important for brands to understand why internet TV is a growing force in the advertising world and how they can integrate the medium into campaigns for maximum impact.”

In addition to explaining the factors driving the industry, the guide outlines branded content solutions – the new and emerging segment of the online video market. Tips for success are also provided.

“There are a number of important factors brands need to consider to ensure their internet TV solutions work best for them including taking advantage of real time brand optimisation, and targeting user-initiated, in-stream videos that appear above the fold,” Ostick said.

Brands and agencies can email internettv@thevideonetwork.tv to request a PDF copy of the guide.
