SCU Scores Sponsorship Deal with Newtown Jets

SCU, (formerly Sydney Credit Union) is pleased to announce its major sponsorship in 2012 of The

Newtown Jets, the oldest rugby league club in Sydney, and Australia.

This sponsorship is a first for SCU and the Jets and has been secured just in time for the start of the 2012

Rugby League season. Trial matches in the NSW Cup Competition begin this month and the season’s

opening game is on Sunday 4thMarch.

“SCU is thrilled to announce that in 2012 we are a major sponsor of The Newtown Rugby League Football

Club, which is entering its 104th year of rugby league competition,” said SCU’s Executive Marketing

Manager, Adam Milbank.

“We are very excited to be supporting one of Sydney’s most iconic sporting organisations. This

sponsorship represents SCU’s commitment to benefit local community interests, especially in Sydney’s

inner west and western suburbs where so many of our customers reside,” said Mr Milbank.

Just like SCU, the Newtown Jets have a long and proud history in Sydney and the Jets continue to enjoy

widespread recognition and support among followers of rugby league.

The SCU logo will be prominently placed on the on-field clothing of both the Newtown Jets and their

affiliated team in Parkes, Central NSW, the Parkes Spacemen.

SCU will also be involved in the annual season launch, game day promotions, fundraisers and special

events throughout the 2012 season.

“The time was right to sponsor The Newtown Jets and we look forward to getting behind them for what we

expect will be yet another successful rugby league season,” added Mr Milbank.
