NRMA launches Australia’s biggest road survey

Announcement posted by NRMA Motoring & Services 05 Mar 2012

Last year 10,000 motorists responded to the NRMA's Seeing Red on Roads survey to fight for better roads for NSW - 12 months on motorists will once again have the chance to have their say.
From today the Seeing Red On Roads survey will call on all road users to 'red flag' their most frustrating road in NSW or the ACT and go in the draw to win one of three i-Pad 2s.

Last year the survey found the Pacific and Princes highways to be the two worst roads in NSW. Six months later the NSW and Australian Governments committed record levels of funding into these roads with over a billion dollars committed to the Pacific and $80M to the Princes Highway.

NRMA Motoring & Services President Wendy Machin said it was no coincidence that the worst roads in our Red Flag survey had been the roads to receive the most amount of funding in the most recent State Budget.

"The fact that the Government committed funding to the worst roads in our survey shows that they will respond to people power, especially when so many people are dedicated to having their say," Ms Machin said.

"If the NRMA is going to continue delivering results we need you to 'Red Flag' your most frustrating road by May 15 - we're also keen to hear of any suggestions you may have for improvements to the road you nominate.

"By completing our survey you can help us take a stand against tragically underfunded, unsafe and congested roads in NSW.

"The survey will remain open until 15 May and the results will be released in early June.

"I encourage all motorists to have their say on the worst roads in NSW," Ms Machin said.
