NRMA welcomes speed zone changes

Announcement posted by NRMA Motoring & Services 26 Mar 2012

The NRMA today said the State Government’s simplification of speed zones across the top 100 road corridors voted by the NSW community would be welcomed by motorists.

NRMA Motoring & Services President Wendy Machin said the changes would go a long way to reduce confusion for motorists on NSW roads.

“Motorists will welcome this sensible announcement by the Government - this will finally make many speed zones across the state simpler,” said Ms Machin.

“It is hoped that these changes will increase the confidence of motorists in knowing the correct speed to travel on NSW roads.

“It came as no surprise that the Princes Highway at Heathcote received a large number of submissions – we hope the small but significant change from 50km/h to 60km/h will make a difference to frequent users of this road.”
