Yarra Valley Water Taps into AXS-Ones Online Procurement

Yarra Valley Water, a large Victorian retail water company, has selected TransAXS Procurement, an online procurement system from AXS-One, a leading supplier of e-Business solutions.
Yarra Valley Water supplies water and sewerage services to 1.5 million people in an area covering approximately 3,955 square kilometres of Melbournes northern and eastern suburbs.
Yarra Valley Water's e-Business initiatives have progressed rapidly from the development of a new award winning website focussing on customer needs, to a new service offering customers the convenience of receiving and paying bills on the one Internet site and now to the selection of AXS-Ones Online Procurement system, TransAXS Procurement.
We see TransAXS Procurement as the base from which to take advantage of e-procurement opportunities - especially where these result in lower processing and purchasing costs, said Patrick Stock, Contracts Manager, Yarra Valley Water.
YVW are currently using the e.conomy" marketplace run by PriceWaterhouse Coopers in conjunction with TransAXS Procurement.
Four procurement systems were investigated with TransAXS Procurement being the product of choice. The reasons given are the products rich functionality, ease of integration with existing financial system and value for money. In addition the products intuitive approach makes it easy to use, requiring minimal training and no software installed on the desktop. Approximately 100 staff members will be using this system and it is expected to go live in the 4th quarter 2001.
The benefits we see TransAXS Procurement providing YVW is gaining access to supplier catalogues and value added on-line services as they become available, reduced cycle times, participation in potential industry portals, greater levels of staff skill and comfort in an e-Business environment, added Mr Stock.
