Datacom acquires Enterprise Support for SAP strategic capability

Announcement posted by Datacom Systems Pty Ltd 17 Apr 2012

Australasian-owned IT services company Datacom today announces its acquisition of Enterprise Support Asia Pacific (ESAP). ESAP is a supplier of SAP Human Capital Management implementation and support services. ESAP also provides a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering for SAP’s Human Capital Management (HCM) suite of products. This acquisition is an extension of Datacom’s existing capabilities in application support and payroll/HR.

“We are delighted to have secured an organisation of this calibre” said Mark McWilliams, Datacom Investments Director. “Enterprise Support has significant capability around supporting SAP applications and will augment our business process outsourcing capability around payroll and related human resource management services with its expertise in the market-leading SAP HCM suite”.

ESAP is based in Melbourne and provides services to large entities, public and private, including hosting, supporting and maintaining implementations of SAP HCM, delivering to those clients at a competitive “cost per pay” compared to a typical in-house implementation.

“Datacom is great for my people and my clients and for the future of Enterprise Support. They are an organisation that understands this business very well and will enable Enterprise Support to grow much faster than we ourselves could organically. It’s a great match for us both,” said Girish Anand-Sobti, ESAP’s former owner and managing director, who will continue to work with Datacom.

Datacom plans to expand ESAP’s SAP offerings to larger enterprises throughout Australia and New Zealand. Datacom currently processes the pay of around 17% of the NZ workforce through its own payroll systems for thousands of small and medium enterprises.

ESAP will operate as an independent business unit within Datacom, with all employees retained and services delivered as they are today. “SAP is the leader in this market and we are pleased to now have a significant capability in its software solutions through this acquisition,” said Jonathan Ladd, Datacom Group CEO. “Enterprise Support aligns well with our company purpose to provide great solutions that deliver enduring performance to every client.”
