CeBIT Australia 2012 welcomes major participation by Huawei

Sydney, May 1 2012 – World-leading telecommunications provider Huawei has confirmed its participation as one of the largest exhibitors at CeBIT Australia 2012, opening on May 22 at Darling Harbour.

Huawei is the world’s second-largest telecommunications provider, and in Australia has more than doubled in size during the past 12 months. CeBIT Australia Managing Director Jackie Taranto has welcomed them with open arms.

“Huawei has a major presence in Australia, particularly in the business enterprise market and we are delighted they will feature strongly at this year’s event,” Ms Taranto said.

“The line-up of major companies exhibiting this year is better than ever and with India as our Partner Country, we will also see more than 70 Indian organisations taking part.

“We are looking forward to a record year, with the highest number of exhibitors to date,” she said.

Huawei Director of Corporate and Public Affairs Jeremy Mitchell said that Huawei was making a big impact on the Enterprise market. “Huawei Australia’s Enterprise Business Group has gone from strength to strength since launching just last year,” he said.

“CeBIT will be the perfect event to showcase Huawei’s latest Enterprise innovations, including e-health, e-education, high-definition video conferencing, and technology solutions for industries like mining and more.”

There will be significant participation by China at CeBIT Australia next month, with more than 35 companies exhibiting, including Lenovo and China Telecom. China is also sending a 40-plus strong delegation.

“China’s representation at CeBIT grows every year and there have been an increasing number of bilateral business and trade deals created because of the event,” Ms Taranto said.

“As an important regional neighbour, China’s vibrant, dynamic technologies’ industries provide Australian businesses with many partnership opportunities.”

Last week, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao opened Hannover Messe, the world's largest industrial fair with German Chancellor, Dr Angela Merkel.
