Emerson Network Power to Showcase Australian-firsts at ARBS 2012

DCIM, enclosure and precision cooling offerings on display beginning May 7

Sydney, Australia [May 4, 2012] – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and a global leader in maximising availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, will provide Australia’s first look at four of its newest technologies at this year’s ARBS 2012 Exhibition, scheduled May 7-9 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The technologies are part of SmartAisle™, one of several platforms under Emerson Network Power’s family of Smart Solutions. Smart Solutions are intelligent, integrated infrastructure systems for the data centre that employ a patented approach to enabling best-of-breed technologies and industry-best practices. As such, SmartAisle optimises infrastructure deployment and management with an intelligent row-based system that integrates data centre racks, power, row cooling, aisle containment, monitoring and control technologies for spaces with up to 40 racks. Each SmartAisle offering is engineered for energy efficiency economy and performance and ease of management, and can be changed as the IT environment changes.

“Organisations are increasingly concerned with rising costs associated with operating a data centre, especially as Australia moves towards a Carbon Tax economy,” said John Simpson, managing director, Emerson Network Power in Australia and New Zealand. “Emerson’s SmartAisle infrastructure enables an organisation to reduce the total cost of ownership of a data centre by using free cooling where possible, for example, and increasing energy efficiencies with an intelligent design that suits the unique needs of an organisation.”

The Avocent™ Universal Management Gateway is the industry’s most advanced data centre appliance and enables integrated monitoring, access and control of data centre IT and infrastructure operations. When combined with data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) software, this multifunctional device will deliver comprehensive, real-time IT and infrastructure management capabilities for the data centre. The appliance combines the monitoring of the normally disparate IT and infrastructures through one gateway.

The Liebert™ PCW uses chilled water as its cooling fluid and is ideal for use in data centres facing the load and temperature variations caused by cloud computing. With no less than seven patents pending designed to reduce fan power consumption, the Liebert PCW can increase energy efficiencies for organisations by up to 65 per cent.  It is suitable for all data centre environments thanks to a wide range of configurations which can be adapted to meet the needs of a given data centre and is easy to install regardless of which configuration is used.

The Liebert™ CRV 30 chilled water cooling system installs within a row of data centre equipment racks, providing precision cooling close to the server heat source for efficient and effective operation. The 300mm unit provides 30kW of nominal cooling capacity and filtration to IT spaces by means of five variable speed, individually hot-swappable EC fans.

The Knurr™ E-Series Rack is an innovative enclosure system that integrates computing hardware, power management technologies and peripherals in the data centre and computer rooms. Its superior design and flexibility allows for optimal data centre performance and easy installation.

All four products will be seen for the first time on Australian shores and demonstrated at the Emerson Network Power stand during ARBS 2012.
