Over 250 guests joined in the 90’s themed ball at Melbourne’s Park Hyatt to network, celebrate Acceptance Finance’s 21st birthday, and raise money for the Cancer and Wellness Centre.
The evening opened with a bang as Melbourne performing arts group Suitably Laced exploded onto the stage with a dance battle expertly choreographed to 90’s music hits.
That set the tone for the evening – lively, energetic and FUN! The 90’s theme was chosen as it was the decade Acceptance Finance was launched and also the decade Olivia Newton-John overcame her own personal experience with cancer.
Hosted by a double-act MC outfit of Terry Rogers and one of the Centre’s Ambassadors, Tottie Goldsmith, the room rallied behind the cause with great vigour with almost every auction item on the night selling.
Two of the highlight live auction pieces included a photo shoot at the stables of Black Caviar with the horse herself selling for $3,700 and a piece of artwork by renowned Indigenous Artist, Sarrita King selling for $5,500.
Director of Acceptance Finance, Mr Joe Terlato’s vision for the black-tie ball was an elegant and fun evening that gave guests the opportunity to dress up and enjoy some top-shelf food and wine while raising some solid funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre at the Austin Hospital in Heidelberg.
“I am rapt with the night! All of our guests had a fantastic time and really got behind the cause which was all I could have hoped for,” says Joe Terlato, Director, Acceptance Finance.
“I looked up at one point and the dance floor was absolutely packed, the auction area was nearly sold-out and I saw lots of smiles and laughter – a perfect combination!”
“Given how tough things are at the moment, I am really proud and thankful to our industry colleagues and clients for really getting into the night! After seeing how successful this night was, I now only wish to go bigger and better for next year’s ball!” says Mr Terlato.
The Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre will cost $189 million and there is only $6 million left to fundraise.
