Unique Collection of Penfolds Special Bin Wines to be Broken up at Auction

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA – July 20, 2012 -- A unique collection of Penfolds special bin wines is amongst the highlights of Wickman's July fine wine auction sale taking place online this month. Australia's top wine collectors have been invited to take part and place bids online. The special bin collection, of exceptional quality bottles boasting outstanding provenance, comprises a dozen of the rarest and most famous of the special bin range and has been split into individual bottle lots for the July auction.
The highlights of the collection include:
1962 Penfolds bin 60a - A wine that has been listed amongst the world’s most famous wines to try before you die.
The 1973 Penfolds bin 169 Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon and the 1973 Penfolds bin 170 Kalimna shiraz, wines that were destined to be blended into a 1970's version of the bin 60a but were bottled separately, possibly due to a lack of cabernet fruit in that year.
The auction closes at 8:00pm Adelaide time on Monday the 23rd of July.
