SBS's Tour de France records highest online audience

SBS’s Tour de France website, www.sbs.com.au/tdf, has recorded its highest ever average daily unique browsers since the tour began on SBS.
Daily unique browsers averaged 55,000 during the 2012 Tour de France, which is up 13 per cent on 2011. Page impressions recorded a 63 per cent increase on 2011 while user sessions recorded a 15 per cent increase.

On social media, the Cycling Central Facebook page recorded a 32 per cent increase in likes while the Cycling Central Twitter feed recorded 23 per cent more followers. The SBS Tour de France Skoda Tour Tracker received close to 250,000 installs across all mobile platforms. The Cycling Central Social Hub recorded average user sessions over 25 minutes with 1.2 million page views.

More than 6 million viewers nationally tuned into SBS’s broadcast of the 2012 Tour de France, with 4,397,000 metro and 1,632,000 regional. This year’s broadcast was the third most watched Tour de France on SBS (according to metro reach), behind the 2011 and 2008 editions.

SBS has the exclusive live broadcast rights to the Tour de France until 2017.
