SBS continues to lead the way with cycling coverage in Australia and will show the last of cycling’s three grand tours, La Vuelta a Espana, live in August.
Eight stages of the iconic three week race through Spain will be shown live as well as daily highlights on SBS ONE.
This year’s La Vuelta a Espana will be the first major competition for Spain’s Alberto Contador since his suspension from racing in February for a positive drug test during the 2010 Tour de France. Also set to compete is Team Sky’s Chris Froome, who will be looking to go one better than his second place at this year’s Tour de France.
SBS’s coverage of La Vuelta a Espana will be hosted by Michael Tomalaris with expert analysis from former professional cyclist Henk Vogels.
The eight live stages of the La Vuelta a Espana will be streamed live online at sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral. The latest news, results, videos and highlights will also be available online.
SBS’s coverage of La Vuelta a Espana begins with daily highlights at 5:30pm Sunday 19 August on SBS ONE. The first live stage is Stage 8 at 11:30pm Saturday 25 August on SBS ONE.
