ANB Natural Physique Competition brings muscles to the Central Coast

Hard bodies and many hours of work and dedication will be on display

The sport of bodybuilding comes to the NSW Central Coast on September 22 presented by the Australasian Natural Bodybuilding federation, and VIP Fitness Personal Training.

 

“With one of the best line-ups of athletes in the contest's 10-year history the 2012 Central Coast competition is a must-see event,” says organiser Mick Moss, of VIP Fitness Personal Training.

 

Hard bodies and many hours of work and dedication will be on display in various categories for both men and women in either physique, figure, sports model or fitness for ages ranging from teenagers to Grand Masters.  Competitors train all year round, but the real competition preparation begins about three months in advance, shedding fat by exercising at least six days a week and tailoring their diets.  “It’s total focus and dedication to being in the best shape possible on stage” says Mr Moss.

 

“Competitors are very strict with their diets eats five or six meals every day - mainly chicken and vegetables - to hone their bodies as they want to maintain muscle while burning body fat.  It’s not just about losing weight, this is a real science.  It’s a lot of work and dedication.  For each and every competitor up on stage it is a testament to their commitment, mental strength to overcome challenges, and focus.  It takes real heart to compete”, says Mr Moss, himself a multiple National and World Champion.

 

The competition is open for entry by natural athletes of all ages and is members of the ANB.  The ANB have a pro-active ASDA drug testing policy to keep the sport clean.

 

The event is a 1-day format incorporating the Prejudging, which is where all competitors in each category appear on stage as a group performing their mandatory poses.  This enables the judges to be able to assess like-to-like.  The Finals is where the excitement happens as each competitor perform posing/dancing routine.  The Finals is where the winners of each category, and overall winners are crowned.
