Announcement posted by Pointpal 18 Sep 2012

Standalone Android and iPhone rewards app ready for iOS6

Sydney, NSW – 18 September 2012 – Pointpal, the Australian based rewards and loyalty platform provider, is aiming to be one of the first local apps on Apple Passbook.

Retailers and brands, such as Oporto, Subway, Thomas Dux, Bakers Delight and Stella Artois, use the Pointpal platform today to reward customer loyalty. Once Apple Passbook integration is complete, Pointpal consumers across Australia and Singapore can choose to store their existing and new loyalty cards within the Passbook app.

“We intentionally built an enterprise-grade platform so we could deliver real-time loyalty data from within a secure, flexible and scalable environment – and have the capacity to harness new technologies and developments to improve a user’s experience,’ stated Tony Nguyen, co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Pointpal. ‘Apple Passbook is a great example that justifies that decision.’

Pointpal provides a smartphone app (on iPhone and Android) and a data-rich platform to provide a wide variety of loyalty and rewards types including stamps, points, coupons, surveys and digital redemption. This gives brands and merchants the flexibility to develop a loyalty program to suit their customers needs and to meet marketing objectives.

With Passbook integration, the existing platform mechanics continue as normal however the consumer can store their card in the Passbook app.

‘We love giving consumers choice. Every Pointpal iPhone user will be able to choose how to interact – using the familiar Pointpal app or via Passbook,’ said Andrew Lowe, co-Founder and Managing Director.
