Idol Royalty & Young Diva, Emily Williams tours the country with full scale touring show 'My Idol' which pays homage to her idol Whitney Houston

EMILY HITS THE ROAD

Emily Williams' first solo single (on the Young Divas album) was a cover of Whitney Houston’s classic hit ‘I Will Always Love You’. It was fitting that Emily’s first single be a tribute to the person whom she idolised her entire life. As Whitney passed away Emily was honored to be flooded with requests from fans, event organisers and even Whitney Houston fan groups across the world wanting to hear Emily perform a tribute.

Emily, who has been called 'Queen of the high C 's', has put together a full production show honouring her idol. The production showcases Emily’s favorite Whitney songs including the classic hits, the songs that made her famous and the ones that inspired Emily herself to follow her dreams! The 2 hour show features Emily in all her glory accompanied by a six piece band performing a selection of original tracks as well as Whitney's most loved tunes.

Emily has been a busy girl since first rising to fame in Australian Idol and the platinum selling group 'Young Divas' but the last 2 years have been crazy! Emily released her first single off her album ‘Spellbound’ to huge critical acclaim, the follow up single ‘You’re Mine’ was released on Valentines day last year; it reached the top 30 on the Australian indie charts and scored her a nomination as ‘Female Artist of the Year.’ Soon after the huge success of ‘Your Mine’ Emily paired with the ‘Red Cross’ and released NZ earthquake relief song ‘Never Alone’. To kick of 2012 Emily released again …. this time a track built for the dance floor! She teamed top international DJ and producer ‘The Popstar’ to create the ‘Spellbound – The Remix’ which marked the last single she would release until her solo debut album 'Uncovered' dropped in February. Emily is now excited about touring 'My Idol' with her band and is looking forward to re-connecting with her fans across Australia.
