World Renown Bartender Murray Stenson Needs Our Help

A Fundraising Event has been scheduled for November 3, 2012, at the ReviveR Cocktail Bar to raise funds for Murray Stenson’s lifesaving heart surgery. He has no health insurance, and needs our help. If we all pitch-in a bit, it will add-up and help our friend get on the road to wellness.
Few
people
go through life and leave such a mark on so many different people as
Murray
Stenson. After serving the public for over 36 years in Seattle,
Washington,
it’s time to give back to Murray. He has made so many people happy, and
has
listened to all of their problems, and was always willing to lend an
ear. Now it's time for the industry to give back to this great man. This
is why Fundraising Events are being held all around the
planet by the global cocktail and community.
As far away
from Seattle as New South Wales in Australia, The ReviveR Cocktail Bar is bringing in Super Bartender Shane Sahr,
who is the multi-award winning bartender from Tini Bigs. Along
the way, Sahr's experiments in mixology have not gone unnoticed,
garnering him the recognition and accolades of industry peers, media and most
importantly, his loyal customers. From being a regular contender for “Best
Server” and “Best Bartender” titles in annual US competitions,
to building national credibility with award winning wine lists honored by
Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence in 2007 and 2008, as well as Winner
of Tilth organic cocktail competition and Regional winner of The
Manhattan Experience by Woodford Reserve and Esquire Magazine in 2010 and
a judge for The Manhattan Experience in 2011.
Sahr will
be sharing tales and insights while whetting your whistle while ReviveR will be
showcasing five of Murray’s most popular cocktails. Money will be donated from
every drink sold that night, and all tips will also go to MurrayAid.
This is the only venue outside of North America to hold this event.
Murray
Stenson
who was awarded Bartender Of The Year in 2010, influenced and mentored
Gordon Ryan while he established the ReviveR Cocktail Bar as the place
to go for a classic cocktail. Inspired by Stenson’s execution of such
classic
drinks like “The Last Word”, a prohibition-era cocktail that he brought
back to life in 2004, ReviveR will be featuring this great cocktail on
the
night.
While
in
Seattle once, Stenson handed Ryan a much treasured hand-written recipe
for the now famous Corpse ReviveR. That coaster now features in the main
photograph handing on a wall at the bar.
Times like
this give people the chance to show their love for a fellow human being that
transcends borders, lifestyles and cultures, as everybody has only good things
to say about Murray Stenson. Reviver is
leading the drive by the Australian bar and cocktail industry in supporting
friend, mentor and inspiration Stenson in his time of need.
