Melbourne Home Builder Englehart Wins HIA Display Home Of The Year

Announcement posted by Englehart Homes 13 Nov 2012

Englehart Homes has been awarded one of the housing industry’s highest recognitions, as HIA Victorian Display Home of the Year.
The winner was announced at the HIA-CSR Victorian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards at Crown Towers before a crowd of hundreds of industry leaders.

Judged by industry professionals, the HIA awards acknowledge the talent of designers, builders and building companies who plan and construct quality new housing and apartments, renovations and outdoor projects.

From the grand colonnade entrance and bluestone saw-finish paving to the Juliet balcony and delicate customised wrought iron that crests the shingled slate roof, this statement home can’t help but impress and charm.
French casement windows are a major element of the façade and are present throughout the house, capturing views, maximizing natural light and imbuing each room with European refinement.
The flexible floor plan can vary from three to five bedrooms plus study/guestroom. Similarly, the garage can be designed to accommodate two or three cars.
The entire home combines historical detail, impeccable workmanship, clever zoning and modern technology.

Details such as the fanlight front door, aged French Oak parquet floors, French doors, leadlight casement windows, grand spiral staircase, exterior and interior colonnades, and extravagant use of marble throughout create an authenticity that is grand yet welcoming.
The judges commented that the design of the home is also very impressive with an excellent use of space for livability, comfort, family interaction and privacy where required. “The transition between the indoor and outdoor areas is also very functional,” they said.

HIA Victorian Executive Director Gil King congratulated the winners. “In a year where building activity in Victoria has come ‘off the boil’, it’s wonderful to see that our builders are maintaining the very high standards we have come to expect”, Mr King said.

“Victorian builders are first class in the design, workmanship and quality of new homes and renovations. HIA is delighted with the exceptional quality of entries this year. All winners and finalists should be proud to have reached the pinnacle of building standards demonstrated in these quality homes,” he said.

“In an environment of uncertainty about the economic and regulatory future, our builders and designers have put these difficulties behind them and forged ahead with outstanding concepts, design, construction and finishings,” said Mr King.
“It can be very easy to be distracted by the negatives however it is evident from this year’s entries our members have focussed on quality processes, outcomes and delivery”, he added.

Englehart Homes will go on to compete against other Display Homes from around the country at the 2013 HIA Australian Housing Awards, to be held in May in Brisbane. For more on home builder Melbourne information visit http://engleharthomes.com.au for the latest news in building.
