Websense Expands Mobile Cloud Security Reach with Australian Cloud Infrastructure

Announcement posted by Websense Australia 04 Dec 2012

Websense <http://www.websense.com/?cmpid=prnr2.9.12> (NASDAQ: WBSN) has announced a strategic expansion of the company’s footprint in Australia with the launch of a local point of presence (POP) infrastructure in support of organisations deploying its TRITON™ Mobile Security <http://www.websense.com/content/TRITON-mobile-security-overview.aspx?cmpid=prnr8.9.12> solution.

Websense’s TRITON™ Mobile Security <http://www.websense.com/content/TRITON-mobile-security-overview.aspx?cmpid=prnr8.9.12> solution offers users a cloud-based security service for Apple iOS devices on wireless mobile networks and is the only solution that combines four key elements for highly effective unified mobile security: content-aware data security, industry-leading web security, malicious app protection and mobile device management (MDM).

By accessing the local POP, Australian users now gain access to a local, highly scalable, fault-tolerant, fully-redundant infrastructure with multiple ISP connections. This will result in reduced latency and geo-location functions.

Websense TRITON Mobile Security provides unique protection for data-in-motion wherever employees use their devices. The data-aware defences in Websense TRITON Mobile Security protect against data loss and the theft of intellectual property. This cloud-based security service, with an on-demand VPN tunnel, analyses inbound and outbound data communications.

"Mobility is a growing concern for organisations, as employees unwittingly distribute confidential information through the power of cloud computing. Through this local point of presence, we can help our customers protect their confidential data, whether it’s accessed by corporate or BYOD mobile devices and offer them security they haven’t seen with MDM,” said Gerry Tucker, Manager, Regional Sales, ANZ, Websense.

Administrators can roll out Websense TRITON Mobile Security by simply installing a profile to iOS devices and choosing the appropriate policy for company-owned or personal mobile devices to keep them secure. Within a few minutes, customers can extend their existing web security policies to mobile devices. Integrated MDM features enable organisations to control mobile devices to keep them secure, minimise risk and maintain compliance. Users also have real-time contextual security provided by Websense ACE (Advanced Classification Engine), the technology that powers security defenses in all Websense TRITON security solutions.

Websense globally located, carrier-grade data centres in the cloud, which are part of ISO 27001-certified Websense Cloud Services, meet strict security and availability standards that most organisations can't afford on their own. Websense Cloud web security services come with a 99.999% uptime service level agreement.
