AAPT shows support for Sydney entrepreneurs and local start-ups

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (August, 2012) – The newly-established Sydney Founder Institute has recently announced its first class of graduates and will showcase their products at a capital-raising event sponsored by Australian telecommunications infrastructure company, AAPT on Thursday August 2.

AAPT CEO David Yuile is a dedicated advocate of start ups and technological innovation in Australia and says he is proud of the association AAPT has with the Institute.

“Our involvement as sponsors for the evening provides a great opportunity to show our support for the local start-up industry, something that is personally very important to me.  We would be delighted to develop our relationship with the program for upcoming semesters,” he said.

The Founder Institute is an early-stage start-up accelerator and global launch network that helps entrepreneurs create meaningful and enduring technology companies. Through a part-time, four- month program, existing and prospective founders can launch their dream company with expert training, feedback and support from experienced start-up CEOs.

“The Sydney Founder Institute plays a vital role in the preservation of local start-ups and encourages the focus to remain within Australia,” said David Yuile.

The showcase event will see a demonstration from the graduates of their products to an audience of local start-up industry members including program mentors, advisors and angel investors in the hope of fundraising much-needed capital to fuel the development of their projects.

“As a member of the industry panel, I am looking forward to witnessing the results of the creativity and intelligence that has been harnessed by the program over the 14-week semester,” said David Yuile.

Founded in 2009 by serial entrepreneur Adeo Ressi, the Founder Institute has helped launch over 500 companies across 26 cities and five continents - making it the world's largest start-up accelerator.

In Sydney, the Founder Institute began its inaugural semester in March 2012 and will run two semesters per year.
