Rockingham to shrink in size in 2013 – dress size that is!

29 January 2013:The people of Rockingham are going to make 2013 their year to get in shape, with 74% of people in Rockingham declaring ‘I want to lose weight’ on their new year’s resolution list, according to Orbit Fitness, Rockingham’s largest supplier of fitness equipment.

When asked how they planned to shift the weight, encouragingly most (79%) said they planned to exercise more, and 56% said they intend to eat better, while only 27% said they intend to try a crash diet.

Peter Hodgson, Managing Director of Orbit Fitness said: “We’re delighted to see the people of Rockingham making their health a priority this year. As a direct response to the increased interest in fitness and exercise in Rockingham in recent months, Orbit Fitness will be relocating to a larger premises in Rockingham this week. This will allow us to stock a greater range of equipment for those who want to get fit in the comfort of their home or office – which accounts for 67% of those surveyed.”

Of those intending to exercise, the majority (42%) looked to take up cardio exercises such as running, skipping and cycling. Weight training came a close second (36%), while others aimed to join group classes or take up a high intensity sport such as boxing, footie or hockey (22%).

From February 1^st, the people of Rockingham can visit the improved Orbit Fitness location at 8-10 Commodore Drive, where the knowledgeable staff – including a Doctor of Sport and Science, an ex-Marine Core Sergeant and a professional MMA fighter – will be on hand to make getting in shape a little easier.

To celebrate Rockingham’s fitness pledge, Orbit will be cutting prices on a range of items in their new Rockingham store over the next two weeks, with discounts on treadmills, exercise bikes, home gyms, weights and a range of other workout equipment.
