Top 5 Reasons We Watched the Oscars

If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like to literally look a million bucks, all you’d have needed to do was watch the Oscars last night. Hollywood’s finest were out in full force wearing altogether $14 million in high-end diamond jewellery. Honestly, it leaves us wondering why we even care about the awards with a glittering spectacle like that! (Kidding!)

 Here were our favourite million-dollar diamond looks of the night. While the values range from $2.5 million to just a lowly $1 million amongst our winners, we think you’ll agree that all these women were worthy candidates in their diamond jewellery choices.

1.  At number one is Jennifer Garner. Wearing $2.5 million worth of darkened platinum and diamonds by Neil Lane, including a whopping 200-carat necklace, she stole all our hearts with her fresh-faced class.

2. Charlize Theron, pictured in Christian Dior couture, wore Harry Winston platinum and diamond studs that were worth $1.6 million alone - not to mention her extravagant vintage cuff bracelet, and ring the value of which is unknown.  While not nominated for an Oscar for her role in Snow White and the Huntsman this year, she definitely is runner-up in our books for this icy look. 

3. In third place, Catherine Zeta Jones is wearing gold Zuhair Murad, wore over $1 million and inset with at least 200 carats of custom Lorraine Schwartz earth tone-colored natural diamonds. While it’s an unusual look, the combination of different diamond shades makes this one a winner for the dusky Zeta Jones.

4.  She always knows how to make an entrance, and Adele’s simple all-black ensemble was highlighted with $1 million Harry Winston diamond clusters and a platinum diamond ring. For this valuable look alone, she certainly deserved her Oscar last night.

 5.  Although last, Zoe Saldana’s look puts her firmly on this list as well. Donning Neil Lane platinum and diamond chandelier earrings with pearls and diamond rings totaling 9 carats, her jewellery was worth well above $1 million.
