Philip Belcher appointed as the new Managing Director.

AWA Limited today announced that Philip Belcher has been appointed Managing Director effective 8th April 2013.

Mr Belcher has been appointed to take over as Managing Director of AWA Limited from Mr Mark Rainbird who has been in the role for the last 8 years. Mr Rainbird was one of a small group of investors who acquired AWA in 2004.

“Mark advised the Board late last year that he wished to step down as Managing Director and take an extended break in Europe with his family. Mark retains his significant ownership interest in the business and will continue in his role, until the end of March, to ensure a seamless transition to Philip,” said Mr Michael Brogan, Chairman, AWA Limited.

“As the inaugural Managing Director of the new AWA, the Board is very grateful for the job Mark has done in steering the company, particularly through the last few years in a difficult economic environment and he has earned his break.

“We now welcome Philip to AWA and are fortunate to have secured someone with his extensive experience and calibre to lead the business in the next phase of its development,” he added.

Mr Belcher was previously Executive General Manager at NEC for Enterprise and Government Sales and NECare. He has held Managing Director, CEO, and Director positions at Radware, StorageTek, Cisco, Datacraft and PM-Partner Group Limited.

“I am honoured and very proud to be joining AWA which is an icon in the Australian IT&T industry with an unrivalled 100 year heritage.
