San Remo has announced a long-term brand ambassador partnership with owner and Executive Chef of Zucca Greek Mezze, Adam Swanson.

The Adelaide-born chef said he was excited to continue his role as a brand ambassador for San Remo.

“Cooking and eating quality food has always been an important part of my life, and to continue helping promote San Remo’s outstanding range of pasta products and show people the best way to cook pasta meals is a dream come true,” Mr Swanson said.

“Pasta has become an important meal for many Australians, so it is important that they learn about the flexibility of great quality pasta and prepare meals that will appeal to the entire family,” he said.

“Some of my best childhood memories involve food and particularly cooking with my Nonna – my grandmother from my mother’s Italian side of the family. She taught me a lot about the importance of quality ingredients and the minimalistic elegance of simple Italian cooking. She also taught me the fundamentals of Pasta history and culture” he says; “But that background has also taught me that there is still much to learn.

Chief Marketing Officer, Michael Neale, said San Remo was proud to continue its alignment with the popular and award-winning celebrity chef.

“Adam has been outstanding in his role as a brand ambassador and the public have enjoyed watching him turn quality pasta into extraordinary meals which can still be prepared by someone at home,” Mr Neale said.

“Adam’s strong family values and passion for cooking quality food is a perfect fit with our brand, and he is well-loved by the public and respected by his culinary peers,” he said.

“His own upbringing has provided him with a deep understanding about pasta culture and tradition and the need to use good quality pasta like San Remo, but his further research since becoming our brand ambassador has set him apart as a real specialist in the field.”

Adam opened his first restaurant Zucca Greek Mezze in late 2003 which won the ‘Best Mediterranean Restaurant’ award for three consecutive years, and has been entered in the hall of fame by the Restaurant and Catering Association of South Australia. Adam was also a founding partner of Esca, a specialist in Southern European / Mediterranean and Italian food at the time, but subsequently sold his interest as his media commitments grew.

As an extension of his passion for food, Adam is a regular chef on Network Ten’s Ready Steady Cook and makes regular guest appearances on “Justine Schofield’s Everyday Gourmet”, “Good Chef, Bad Chef” and Channel 7’s “Out of the Blue”.

Adam concludes, “I believe my role with San Remo will help generations to come to also create similar fond experiences with pasta as I shared within my family as a child.”
