Erin Brockovich Stands up for Mirena Sufferers

Erin already is campaigning beside hundreds of women who have suffered significantly because of Essure implants.
“I have been amazed at the number of women who have written to me with their stories and the serious medical issues they are having due to these implants. Stories from debilitating headaches, nausea, allergic response to the nickel the device is made of, hysterectomies, colon perforation due to device moving, to scans that cannot even find where the device has gone to pregnancy and the women were told that they could not get pregnant yet none of the women were told of the serious side effects.
Mirena is a plastic ‘T-shaped’ device that contains the hormone, “progestogen.” The device has a coating (membrane) that controls the release of the progestogen into the uterus. Mirena prevents sperm from reaching and fertilising the egg. They can also cause changes to the lining of the uterus so a fertilised egg can’t develop.
Erin has launched her Mirena Side Effects Campaign website to allow women to share their stories and warn others of the risks of Mirena.
