EMANTRA APPOINTS CANBERRA IT VETERAN TO PROMOTE MICROSOFT ENTERPRISE HOSTING TO GOVERNMENT

Brian Sharpe has been appointed general manager, government, of Emantra Pty Ltd, the leading Australian Microsoft enterprise hosting provider.

A veteran of the IT industry, with more than 25 years’ experience, much of it in Canberra, Brian was most recently CEO (Enterprise Division) of Uber Global in Canberra.   

He brings a comprehensive range of skills and experience to this newly created role which is aimed at underpinning the provision of Emantra’s services to transform the operational efficiency of Federal Government agencies.

Previous positions Brian has held include that of head of government & security for Macquarie Telecom, director of public sector for Canadian systems integration company CGI and general manager of the Canberra operations of BCT Group, (now UXC).

Among his other industry experience he installed the first foreign-owned data centre in China in 1985, authored Government IT policy, was Chair of eTech Centre and has been a long time member of the AIIA.

With a B. Eng. (Electronics) from Curtin University in Perth Brian is working alongside Anthony Miller, who spearheaded Emantra’s establishment in Canberra in early 2012. Together they have more than 50 years IT services and infrastructure expertise.

Stepping out of the office Brian rides a BMW K1300S super sports bike and is an avid motorcycle enthusiast, enjoying both Supersports and Touring.
