The Mother Tongue launches in Sydney

Announcement posted by Digital Parents 24 Apr 2013

Digital Parents, the largest community of parent bloggers in Australia, is proud to present The Mother Tongue, a celebration of motherhood stories, at Darlinghurst Theatre on the 31st of May, 4.30-7.00PM.

The Mother Tongue is a gathering of some of the biggest and most influential mum bloggers in Australia where they bravely share their motherhood stories on stage.

It is an offshoot project from the Digital Parents Conference, the premier conference for blogging mums and dads in Australia. The Mother Tongue is an intimate event featuring some of the best pieces of writings in the mum blogosphere.

Come and join us for the live readings by writers from the Digital Parents community. Immerse yourself in the joys, sorrows, struggles, heartbreak, laughter and insanity that is motherhood.

Brenda Gaddi, founder of Digital Parents, says she decided to create a separate event for The Mother Tongue after the great response she received when she first introduced the concept at DPCON12.

“The Digital Parents community is all about stories and the sharing of these stories. They are real, raw, honest and come from the heart. By sharing these stories, we want to inspire other women out there to share theirs as well. We want to eliminate that notion of motherhood competition. We are all in this together and hopefully these stories will help with that bond between mothers,” Brenda says.

Tickets are on sale now at $30 including after show drinks. A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to Safe Haven, a charity for domestic violence victims.
