Blue Coat leads worldwide secure web gateway market according to analyst firm

Sydney, Australia, 2 May, 2013 – Blue Coat Systems, Inc., a market leader in Web security and WAN optimisation, today announced that it led the APAC security market in 2012 with 18.8 per cent market share, according to the report from March 2013 Gartner report titled, “Market Share: All Software Markets, Worldwide, 2012.” While the security market grew 7.9 per cent in 2012 and was one of the top five fastest growing segments in the market according to Gartner, Blue Coat grew 12.8 per cent.
In Australia, Blue Coat led the market with 25.3 market share, ten percentage points ahead of the nearest competitor. Worldwide, Blue Coat led the market with 18 per cent share. In North America, Blue Coat led the market with 18.3 per cent share. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Blue Coat was the market leader with 17.7 per cent. In Latin America, Blue Coat led with 23.7 per cent market share.
