Career FAQs celebrates Adult Learners’ Week

Announcement posted by Career FAQs 21 Aug 2013

To help promote the importance of lifelong learning, Career FAQs will host a week-long interactive program to coincide with Adult Learners’ Week.

Taking place from 1st to 8th September on the Career FAQs website and social media channels, the program will showcase a new piece of engaging and informative content each day, including educational resources, visual infographics, interviews and personal learning stories.

The program’s highlight will take the form of a live chat with qualified career advisor, Jo Messer, which will be hosted on the Career FAQs Facebook page on 5th September and carried across on Twitter using the hashtag #CFAQsChat.

Participants will be given the opportunity to address common learning conundrums and curiosities, like upskilling for career advancement, matching goals with the right educational tools and juggling study and parenthood.

‘As savvy lifelong learners we need to seek out opportunities for development of our knowledge and skills base. If we do this, then we will be prepared for whatever comes our way!’ says career advisor Jo Messer.

Supported by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and run by Adult Learning Australia, Adult Learners’ Week underscores the benefits of sustained learning and sparks discussion about the provision of adult learning services in Australia.

‘Adult Learners’ Week is all about celebrating and advancing adult learning. By celebrating Adult Learners’ Week together, we can raise the profile of adult learning and highlight its value’, says Adult Learners’ Australia.

This year’s theme is ‘pathways’, and Career FAQs will be highlighting the many different learning options available.

‘Whether you’re studying an online course, attending a webinar or signing up for a local painting class – it’s never too late to learn!’ says Career FAQs Managing Director, Will Santow.

‘It’s all about finding your own pathway.’

Dedicated to providing extensive career advice and online courses, Career FAQs is an avid supporter of learning at any age.

And, with almost half of all Australian adults considered functionally illiterate, the need to foster and encourage sustained learning activities has never been greater.

Throughout the week, website visitors will also be encouraged to share their own experiences in exchange for the opportunity to win a Coles/Myer gift card valued at $100.

All they need to do is let Career FAQs know what they would like to learn if there was nothing standing in their way.

Visitors who cannot attend the Facebook chat are encouraged to submit their questions to advice@careerfaqs.com.au.

Career FAQs was established in 2005 to meet a pressing need for quality Australian career and educational resources. It now features over 600 nationally recognised, accredited online courses and up-to-date news, tips and advice for anyone and everyone who is interested in their career.
