The Coffee Club Unveils Its Biggest Ever Transformation

  • New nationwide menu launched including a number of exciting new dishes
  • Transformation of food, coffee and store experiences as The Coffee Club enters new era ahead of its 25th anniversary

Australia, 10 September 2013: Australia’s leading home-grown café group, The Coffee Club, this week unveiled the biggest ever transformation in its history ahead of its 25th anniversary next year.

The changes, spearheaded by the launch of new look menus, are supported by a program of modernised store designs and will include, new uniforms and crockery, enhanced coffee and cabinet options - all designed to provide a fresher and more contemporary cafe and dining experience.

The new menu, which marks the beginning of The Coffee Club’s brand transformation, has been inspired by contemporary cafes both in Australia and overseas, said The Coffee Club’s Director John Lazarou.

“Our main focus was on elevating the quality of our menu while also offering our customers a more contemporary experience,” Mr Lazarou said.

“We had a specialised team who was responsible for bringing new inspiration and ideas which could be adopted for The Coffee Club.

“The result is new delicious dishes and tasting experiences to herald a new era at all 265 The Coffee Club stores across the country. We are thrilled with the result!”

One of the biggest changes is the launch of new daytime and ‘after 5pm’ menus, the latter of which will be offered at selected ‘cafe bar restaurants’ (CBRs), providing diners with a greater evening restaurant experience.

The Coffee Club will offer two different menus which will provide a clear differientiator for ‘After 5pm’ customers.

New daytime menu items include a number of new healthier and lighter options:

  • Lighter fresh start breakfasts include Bircher Muesli, Seasonal Fruit Salad and the Light Start Breakfast.
  • Roasted Beetroot, Feta and Candied Walnut Salad is just one of the sensational new lighter options added to the invigorated menu.
  • The Omelette Bar - a new feature which provides customers with a choice to create their own omelette with their choice of select ingredients and includes the Gourmet Spanish Omelette.
  • The Philly Cheese Steak and Reuben Ultimate Sandwiches and the Salmon and Avocado Stack have all been added to the menu permanently, due to popular demand after they delivered the top two selling promotions ever.

New ‘after 5’ menu items include a number of ‘gastro-meal’ options for dinner:

  • Chicken Breast & Haloumi Skewers and Portuguese-style Chicken.
  • Tasting Platters for up to 4 people.

The menu also includes a selection of appetising choices for dessert:

  • New York, New York Cheesecake with white chocolate and raspberry coulis.
  • Triple Chocolate Ganache, caramel, roasted hazelnuts – and extra chocolate sauce.
  • Mud Cake Meltdown layered with chocolate shavings.

Stores will also offer new tantalising ‘grab and go’ options to choose from the store’s cabinets. All new and existing The Coffee Club’s stores will also be receiving a slick new look as part of a refurbishment program and all staff will shortly be wearing newly designed uniforms. Further details will be announced in the coming months.

The Coffee Club General Manager Arif Khan said: “We are making the biggest changes we have ever made at The Coffee Club as we gear up to celebrate being 25 years young next year.

“We are introducing a fresher, more modern and premium cafe and dining experience. The new menu was trialled extensively and we have taken our customers’ feedback into account with the changes we have implemented.

“We are committed to providing good food, great service and excellent coffee and look forward to introducing existing and new customers alike to the brand new The Coffee Club.”

Last year, The Coffee Club served 40 million cups of coffee and proudly employs more than 6,000 people nationally. The Coffee Club is open seven days a week with varying trading hours across Australia, (depending on location).
