Yellowfin calls for participants in Dresner’s 2013 Mobile BI Market Study

Announcement posted by Yellowfin - Business Intelligence 30 Sep 2013

Global Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics software vendor, Yellowfin, has called on its customers and other BI users to participate in the end-user survey for Dresner Advisory Services’ (DAS) 2013 Mobile Business Intelligence Market Study.

The fifth annual study analyses and examines the maturity of the Mobile BI marketplace, and is used to “identify key trends in the plans, adoption and deployment of Mobile BI”, according to former Gartner Research Fellow, and President, Founder & Chief Research Officer of DAS, Howard Dresner.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, and is open until 25 October 2013.

To complete the survey, go here: http://www.mobile-bi-survey.com/

Participants need to use a corporate email address to complete the survey, or their submission will not be counted. The identity of all respondents is kept strictly confidential. Answers are kept anonymous. Participant details are not sold or given to any vendors or third-party organizations. All participants will receive a complimentary copy of the final study.

“Dresner Advisory Services’ Mobile BI study is one of the best research initiatives offering insight into global Mobile BI marketplace trends,” said Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie. “We strongly encourage all Yellowfin customers and BI users to participate, and to provide the feedback we need to deliver the most useful Mobile BI experience possible.”

The study also ranks BI vendors’ mobile capabilities accordingto the number of platforms supported, the level of platform integration and range of features offered.

Yellowfin claimed the outright second highest score in DAS’ 2012 study, outscoring many high profile Mobile BI vendors, including Tableau, Roambi, TIBCO Spotfire, SAS, SAP, QlikTech, MicroStrategy, Information Builders, IBM, Dimensional Insight, Birst and Actuate.

Yellowfin’s Mobile BI platform scored a total of 28.82 points out of a possible 36.5. The highest score achieved was 29.20. Yellowfin was awarded the equal second highest score in the previous two versions of the report.

Demand for mobile reporting and analytics capabilities is steadily growing, according to DAS and Gartner, as organizations with increasingly dispersed and mobile workforces seek competitive advantage via the ability to deliver fact-based insights to decision-makers in shorter timeframes.

A study released by analyst firm Aberdeen Group – Mobile BI: Actionable Intelligence for the Agile Enterprise – found that companies with Mobile BI could make critical business decisions six times faster than organizations without a mobile platform for reporting and analytics.
