EXTRAVAGANZA CELEBRATES ENRICHING LIVES OF VICTORIAN SENIORS FOR 20 YEARS
BlueCross’ award winning STARfish Extravaganza, held Friday 4 October at the Melbourne Park Function Centre, is this year celebrating 20 years of BlueCross enriching lives.
The Extravaganza, coinciding with the United Nations International Day of Older Persons and Victoria’s Seniors Festival, is a celebration of making the most out of life, no matter what age you are.
David Eccles, Managing Director of BlueCross, has said that the Extravaganza is ‘an exciting time for BlueCross as we reflect on the contributions we have made to Victoria’s ageing community.
‘While we reflect, it is also important to look forward to how we can continue to enrich lives and explore what this means to us, our residents and clients.’
The BlueCross STARfish Extravaganza has received many awards in previous years including the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Award in 2012 and the Better Practice Award in 2011.
The Extravaganza reflects our commitment to positive ageing and person centred care, with a focus on our STARFish principles, which are; Be There, Have Fun, Choose Your Attitude and Make Their Day.
‘We are changing the face of aged care by challenging the stereotypes out there and embracing the philosophies of Living Longer, Living Better,’ says Carol Allen, CEO of BlueCross.
‘BlueCross is an inclusive organisation that is spurring innovation forward with events such as our awarded Extravaganza and live internet feeds on the day.’
The Extravaganza will be streamed live online so all BlueCross residents, families, guests and staff unable to attend do not miss out.
The event will run from 12 – 3 pm with special guests including; Noeline Brown, David Mann, the Hon. Kevin Andrews MP, the Hon. Mitch Fifield MP, Jenny Mikakos MLC and many more.
