Announcement posted by Moboom 02 Oct 2013

SAN FRANCISCO and RICHMOND, VIC, AUSTRALIA – Oct. 2, 2013Moboom, a responsive design tool that leverages adaptive technology, signed an agreement with carsales.com, the leading automotive classifieds business in Australia, to use its platform to mass deploy thousands of responsive websites for its online sellers. The partnership is designed to help carsales.com dealerships take advantage of the massive shift toward mobile, quickly providing websites that are fully functional on any type of device with an Internet connection.

“A large proportion of our traffic comes from desktop, but traffic from tablet and mobile devices continues to increase. This is why responsive is important to us,” Paul Barlow, General Manager of Corporate Development for carsales.com, said. “Moboom was chosen because it’s a solution that meets our needs, and the template approach gives us the speed to market for new dealers that we’re looking for.”

The template approach Barlow is referring to, known as Moboom’s Mass Deployment Method, allows developers to build a single website and import content for thousands of businesses using simple data feeds. This approach to responsive web design lets publishers deploy websites by the masses and gave carsales.com a painless way to generate more than 1,000 sites for their marine, equipment, caravan and bike dealers.

In addition to being able to quickly deploy thousands of websites at once, Moboom’s solution also provides another revenue stream for companies like carsales.com, Gavin Burnett, founder and CEO of Moboom, said. Moboom’s solution lets publishers control the pricing of each individual website, and therefore their revenue, while paying Moboom a flat monthly fee.

“Enterprises and publishers are constantly looking for more ways to cushion their bottom lines,” Burnett said. “Moboom gives them a new product to sell without plunking down an upfront cash investment. The only thing they need to get started is access to high-quality content and a developer.”
